Parents' evening "From Apprentice to Professional: Strong Together for the Future"

On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, the parents' evening of W. Althaus AG took place, aimed at giving parents and apprentices from the 1st and 2nd year of training a better insight into the company and its training methods.

Roland Rebecchi (Head of Vocational Training) opened the event with a warm welcome. He emphasized the importance of training young people and the responsibility W. Althaus AG takes on as a training company. In his speech, he highlighted the company’s long-standing tradition and commitment to vocational education.

Following this, Marco Schneider (Managing Director / CEO) of W. Althaus AG took the floor. He presented important data and facts about the company to the attendees, focusing particularly on the question: "Why does W. Althaus AG train young apprentices?"

He explained why supporting young apprentices is crucial for the future of W. Althaus AG and how the various training programs are designed to best prepare the apprentices for their future careers.

After the introductory speeches, the parents were divided into different groups. The apprentices and employees then guided the groups to various presentation stations covering the following topics:

  • Basic training for automation technicians and automation assemblers
  • Specialized training in software, CAD, and control system construction
  • Activity field: Warehouse / Logistics

The participants gained insights into the basics of automation and logistics training. Our apprentices demonstrated practical examples to illustrate the diversity and requirements of the profession.

To conclude the event, W. Althaus AG invited everyone to a relaxed gathering. During the aperitif, all participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas, ask questions, and provide feedback.

W. Althaus AG thanks all participants for their attendance and looks forward to continuing to support young professionals in its training programs.
